Somatic Therapy
Coming Home to Your Body, One Breath at a Time
Listening to the Body’s Wisdom
When we've lived through stress, trauma, or chronic overwhelm, it’s common to feel disconnected from the body—numb, tense, anxious, or hypervigilant. You may feel like your body has turned against you, or that you're stuck in patterns you can't think your way out of.
Somatic therapy offers a different path: one that honors the nervous system, works gently with the body’s natural rhythms, and listens for what has been held, sometimes for years, beneath the surface.
This isn’t about forcing change. It’s about creating a space of safety and support, where your system can begin to soften, settle, and remember its own capacity for regulation and healing.
How Somatic Therapy Can Help
This approach can be especially supportive for:
Chronic pain, tension, or fatigue
Anxiety, panic, or stress that feels stored in the body
A trauma-informed approach to healing chronic stress and stored survival stress
Feeling disconnected from self, emotions, or body
Difficulty slowing down or feeling safe to rest
Overwhelm, shutdown, or emotional numbness
Feeling “stuck” despite insight or self-awareness
Somatic therapy offers a gentle way to reconnect with your body, your resilience, and your sense of wholeness at a pace that honors your system’s wisdom.
What Is Somatic Therapy?
Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach that integrates the mind and nervous system with lived, felt experience. Instead of focusing only on thoughts or insight, we also explore what’s happening in the body through posture, breath, impulses, sensations, and internal responses.
This might include:
Tracking sensation to notice what's arising in the body, moment to moment
Titration and pendulation, so we honor the pace of your system
Movement or gesture, allowing the body to complete protective responses
Grounding and orienting, helping you reconnect with safety and presence
Breathwork, to gently support awareness, regulation, and connection
These practices help bring the body into the conversation so healing can happen not just cognitively, but viscerally.
The Nervous System & The Path to Healing
The body holds what the mind can’t always express.
Whether it’s tension from unresolved stress, shutdown from old survival patterns, or emotional pain that never had words, your body has been carrying it all—wisely, protectively, and often silently.
Somatic therapy supports healing by:
→
→
→
→
Engaging with and working directly with the nervous system
Building tolerance within the discomfort of sensation and emotion
Releasing stored stress responses of tension, protection, or freeze
Supporting integration, so areas that felt stuck can begin to shift
→
Restoring your sense of aliveness, agency, and embodied presence
An Invitation to Return
Sometimes the most powerful healing is quiet.
A small shift.
A deeper exhale.
A moment of feeling just a little more here.
Somatic therapy invites you back into relationship with your body, your rhythm, and the parts of you that have waited so patiently to be heard.
